Please join ReImagine Appalachia for our listening session titled, “Coal Waste: Turning Liabilities into Opportunities” on Tuesday, August 23rd at 3 p.m.
This webinar hosted by ReImagine Appalachia will discuss what coal waste exists in our region and the potential benefits of these new technologies, key considerations for communities and other big questions for our region around these emerging opportunities.
Appalachia has thousands of coal waste sites, including coal ash from power plants, acid mine drainage from abandoned coal mines, and more. Given the expansion of funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the increased global interest in Rare Earth Elements for technologies such as building electric vehicles, it’s an important time to explore opportunities and key considerations for Appalachian communities.
After a presentation from experts, we’ll open up this forum for questions and comments from audience members.
