Charleston, WV — On Thursday, August 25th, a group of West Virginia organizations hosted an educational webinar on August 25th at 7PM, centered around how we can make medications more affordable to everyone, without waiting on Congress to act, while helping to break pharmaceutical monopolies in the process. The press and public were invited to attend.
A recording of the webinar can be viewed here:
During this webinar, attendees learned from medical professionals and community leaders, and heard from real West Virginians who are struggling to afford their medications. Participants were invited to Take Action at tinyurl.com/mmawv.
Speakers included:
- Dr. Daniel Doyle, Secretary of Physicians for a National Health Program of West Virginia
- Sally Roberts, Chair of Rise Up of West Virginia
- Gary Zuckett, Executive Director of West Virginia Citizen Action Group
- Eve Marcum-Atkinson, Communications Coordinator for West Virginia Citizen Action Group
This event was part of a Health Care Webinar Series hosted by WV Citizen Action Group, Physicians for a National Health Program of WV, Rise Up WV, People’s Action and others.
The goal of this series and this webinar was to share information, educate, and empower West Virginians to raise their voices and affect real policy change towards affordable, accessible, quality healthcare.
