CONNECT: How 40 Local Governments in our Region are Reuniting for Climate Action

Please join ReImagine Appalachia on Tuesday, November 15th at noon for a webinar to learn from one of our region’s most successful local government coalitions. CONNECT, or the “Congress of Neighboring Communities” in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania encompasses 40 municipalities which have come together to create a shared vision of climate action for the region. Come, learn, and be inspired to make those same connections with your neighbors to collaborate on planning, funding, and administrative efforts.

This exciting webinar will discuss CONNECT’s network-wide Climate Action Plan which includes the first inventory of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) from each member’s community-wide activities, establishes a feasible emissions reduction target, and outlines potential actions identified by stakeholders to achieve our emissions reduction, equity, and resilience goals.

They will highlight the geographic and demographic diversity of their network that includes high-capacity, early adopter, and low-income communities. The agenda will include a lively presentation from our friends at CONNECT and their partners, and plenty of opportunity for Q+A.
